Men's Residential Treatment in Ohio

Novus Recovery Ohio's residential program in Bidwell is a clinically managed, men-only setting with 24-hour support, where the first stretch of recovery happens away from the noise and triggers of daily life. It's built for men who need structure and space to get stable before stepping down to a lower level of care.

Why a men-only program

Men and women often do their best early group work separately — it's easier to be honest, drop the posturing, and focus. Our residential program is men-only by design, so the environment supports the work rather than distracting from it.

What residential treatment involves

The focus in residential is simple but not easy: slow down, get clear-headed, and build the footing for what comes next. That means:

  • stabilizing and stepping out of the chaos of active use,
  • building patience, tolerance, and clearer thinking,
  • identifying your support systems and the areas of your life that need attention, and
  • setting the goals that carry you into PHP.

When you've met your goals and the clinical team agrees you're ready, you step down to PHP.

Typical length of stay: about 30–45 days, though every plan is individualized.

Day-to-day

We've worked to make this feel like a place you can actually rest and recover — not an institution. Shared rooms, meals and snacks provided, and a structured daily schedule balanced with time to decompress.

Honest about what we are — and aren't

  • Our Bidwell program offers 24-hour clinical support, but it is not a medical facility — there is no on-site nursing or prescribing.
  • If you arrive on prescribed medication, we coordinate with an outside provider and medications are self-administered during your stay.
  • We do not provide detox. If you need medically supervised withdrawal first, we connect you with a detox partner right away — no waitlist — and welcome you once you're cleared. See Need Detox First?
